CCITT/ITU/ISO/OSI/X.25 |
Adax APS-X25 is a streams-based module and driver library supporting unlimited logical sessions with 1988 CCITT/ITU Standard PVC's, SVC's and Fast Select. The APS-X.25 includes standard UNIX NPI and streams kernel functions for direct developer applications support. Adax protocol modules can construct protocol stacks in kernel space, facilitating the construction of complex network architectures. APS-X.25 call control can simultaneously manage X.25, SNA, NFS, RFS, TCP/IP, and SNA/X.25 (QLLC) sessions.
X.25 for UNIX Extensions
Adax X.25 for UNIX supports two wide-area software interface modules: SNDCF, for LAN gatewaying, and CCITT/ITU TP0 for any combination of uucp, RFS or OSI. With either module, users immediately convert their traditional UNIX utilities into wide-area applications. The X.25switch -- Software Packet Switch, is also supported for cost effective, flexible X.25 packet switching or network concentration.
CCITT/ITU X.3, X.28, X.29
Outgoing access to X.25 networks is available through xpad, the packet assembler/desassembler utility. Incoming access from the network is available through xlogin.
Network Control/Diagnostics
Network management is controlled by a menu system with status function available to any selected users. Diagnostic utilities verify correct installation and operation at all points up to the modem.
Programmer's Interface
The programmer's interface is a library of C language subroutines that allow applications access to the network directly at level 3. These are very similar to the UNIX system calls open, close, read, write, and ioctl. Additional calls read and write Q packets, M packets, format call packets, and perform other functions unique to network communications.
UNIX Utilities
Xcu simulates the UNIX utility cu over an X.25 network. Xmail simulates the UNIX utility mail over an X.25 network. Xft performs fast file transfer of a named file from the local to the remote host.
Configuration File
Flexible configuration is the keyword of our xconfig file for X.25's packet and frame level parameters. This file configures for CCITT 1976. 1980, 1984, or 1988 X.25 standards, as well as for the special requirements of international networks.
Available Ports
Adax APS-X.25 UNIX and extensions are available on most 486 and Pentium UNIX and Windows NT systems. Adax software is also ready on many Motorola 680XO UNIX systems. Quotations for porting to other operating systems are made on request.
Certification
APS-X.25 is certified on:
Adax Software is Designed and Tuned to Perform
The APS-X.25 module conforms to the Adax Passion for Performance Formula. This formula delivers the highest line utilization while consuming the least CPU processor power. This efficiency frees the server from protocol processing and the application from the transaction delays inherent in external routers.
Insert and Link
APS-X.25 is designed to be modular. Insert and Link means that you can build with Adax from a single card in a Web Server up to a multi-port card rack for the most demanding telecommunications applications.
Direct Connect
With APS-X.25 you can now direct connect to the WAN. Adax Advanced Protocol Controllers and Advanced Network Controllers allow a direct connection from the server to the network without any external devices or routers.
Integration Expertise
Adax adds a key ingredient no other company can match; expert technical services. Combined with Adax's fully integrated software and hardware products, our technical expertise helps you build the highest-performance WAN INNOVATIONS possible. You can count on Adax to be there with you. No matter what changes may occur in operating systems, bus architectures, applications, or protocols, Adax has been and will continue to be your direct connection to the world.
APS-X.25 operates with the following Adax APC Hardware:
